Dramatic wonderings in the TARDIS! The Doctor’s new companions are put through their paces and you can already see The Advocate working to undermine the group. There is a good mix of new and old, with satisfying back references to Adric and Turlough being used to manipulate the new companion, without it feeling fanwanky. This nostalgia is offset by the trippy fourth dimension sequences that could only be successfully carried off in comic book form. This is far better than a typical TARDIS-bound story and helps develop the new characters.

I am really impressed at how good this run of comics has become, my expectations after the first few was low - but this is much stronger stuff. And pleasingly, each story leads into each other. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
