A different vibe to your average Big Finish, it is none the less the same quality you get from them. Here we are set up with mystery and meet tye lovely cast of characters, and get some nice continuity to various stories. As a trans person Cleo's story definitely relates to me and there's something so refreshing in how her and the friend groups talk with each other, it's very down to earth and the kind of talking I encounter in my daily life, making this such an enjoyable listen. That being said, great opener with some lovely call backs and references although the Penny recast sounded nothing like the one from Partners in Crime. The trio are really interesting, and I love their banter its very natural and fluid and very real. The rest isn't like that at all, and has more of the audio drama style I enjoy much more. The main three girls have very distinct voices, which is good because I often struggle when listening to an all-new cast of characters for the first time. Cleo feels a bit like a caricature to me, but I can tell that isn't going to be the case for the rest of the series; there's a basis there for something much more in-depth. I really like the way her transness was integrated naturally into conversations. This is just the beginning so there's still not much to say about the story itself, but the intrigue builds. uss-genderprise View profile Like Liked 1 22 July 2024 · 44 words Review by WhoPotterVian 4 A strong first episode to this 10 part audio drama. There's some very cool references to Partners In Crime here, and it's nice to hear Anjili Mohindra as Rani Chandra. It's very different to a Big Finish, but just as strong in regards to quality.
