DANNA: Irving. You took your time.

BRAXIATEL: I came as fast as I could.

DANNA: I should have known you’d struggle to be punctual. Always late for class.

BRAXIATEL: You’re mistaking me for one of your other students. I was always on time, sometimes even early.

BRAXIATEL: Right, do you want the good news or the bad news?

ACE: Good. Always the good.

ACE: Despite what the pop songs say, I really don’t think Heaven is a place on Earth.

DANNA: Irving’s not such a bad shot himself.

ACE: I can’t imagine Brax with a gun.

DANNA: I taught him how to shoot down a whole flock of Beziki bats… with one bullet, whilst blindfolded.

BRAXIATEL: Welcome to the mind of a coward, Ace. How much of this was intended? How many deeds are in the name of something good and how many were simply acts of cruelty? I don’t even know any more.

ACE: Stop it. Stop! I can’t look! You’re worse than the Daleks!

BRAXIATEL: Who wants to be normal? We hold the fate of this war in our hands. That’s not normal. We’re not allowed to be concerned about the little things, not yet. We’ve got to see the bigger picture.

— Irving Braxiatel, Soldier Obscura

NARVIN: Romana, have you lost your senses? We can’t possibly…

ROMANA: Oh, we can. And we must. Get me the Master.

BRAXIATEL: I take no orders. I hear no pleas. Maybe all soldiers go blind eventually, stumbling from one fight to the next like you. But not me. No, I choose to live this life, fight this war, and I’m going to see it through. Shape it or escape it, I’ve absolutely no idea, but if I pull this trigger there’s none of that for me.

— Irving Braxiatel, Soldier Obscura

ACE: Hello? Is there someone here? If there’s one of those Obscura ghosts kicking around, I have to tell you two things. One, I don’t believe in ghosts, and two, this is terrible timing.
