This short story is a backstory for the character seen accompanying the Rani in Dimensions in time.

On a deserted sandy planet the writing  paints a vivid and engaging description of all the misfortune that fall upon the lead character in this unforgiving world. It was definitely one of those stories I did not want to put down, even to write notes for this review.

I will say a lot of things that happen go unexplained, which left me confused but not in a bad way. I could see that being more a negative thing for other people though.

Definitely read this only if you’ve watched dimensions in time first, because without that context you’ll be left even more confused.

More of descriptive work than a story, Rescue tells us the backstory of that one guy the Rani worked with in Dimensions in Time. Mostly it's a fantastic nothing of a plot, but it doesn't do anything badly enough to actively dislike it
