Some fascinating ideas, but it feels strange to see the Doctor supporting the Sontarans so openly. joeymapes21 View profile Like Liked 0 15 December 2024 · 167 words Review by 15thDoctor Spoilers 1 This review contains spoilers! I’m impressed by how much story this four-part comic manages to pack in. Thee dramatic destruction of the Sontaran homeworld; the Sontarans being put in the unusual position of asking the Doctor for help; The Doctor uncovering the plan of a rogue Rutan, and that’s all before the original, non-clone Sontaran race enters the picture, starting to wreak havoc. It’s one fascinating plot beat after another, doing exactly what you want from expanded Doctor Who media: enriching the original stories we know while introducing something new and exciting. This comic delivers a fresh story that plays with familiar elements in ways that feel satisfying and inventive—it’s exactly the kind of material that makes me smile. The only downside is the ending, which relies on the original non-clone Sontarans seeing video footage of a Rutan explaining their dastardly plan. It feels a bit hackneyed compared to the rest of the writing. Still, this was a wonderful comic strip featuring Benny and the Doctor. 15thDoctor View profile Like Liked 1 Open in new window Statistics AVG.
