I'm relistening this set as a preparation to the next one due in June. I got lost with this story the first time around, this time I focused and yeah, I liked it a lot. Cass is great here, the Mad Men groundhog setting is really fun (plus it is one of my favourite TV shows!) and the stitches in time surrounding the hospital is a really interesting idea. Plus, we get the first nudges towards the conflict that will sprout between Alex and the Doctor at the end of the box set.

The ABCD book was actually such a smart idea and I wonder if they got lucky, as the 4 main characters have those 4 letters first (well, B is nowhere to be found, but that's the point I guess, we'll see...)

I love what they are doing with Alex and tying it up with the end of the Lucie Miller series, I hope they do this justice in the next set.

Under the Dome

Prerequisites: Yes, many in fact. You'll want at least the 3 previous Time War sets, and Series 4 of the 8DAs (which have their own prerequisites).

Nowhere, Never is a pretty good introduction to this boxset. The performances are good, and I do really quite like the premise here. In fact, I was particularly invested in Cass' suburban housewife hell, which was super cool to listen to. However, this audio's biggest weakness was the fact that it starts in media res. Starting in the middle of the action can absolutely work in stories, but here it's just needlessly confusing. It wasn't until 30 minutes in where I began to understand what was going on, and by my count that's not a good thing. Even at the end, I was confused by certain plot elements (which I'm sure will be explained by the end of the boxset). This might be a story that gets better after I'm given more context, but for now, it's just pretty good.

A brilliant Time War story and follow up to the previous installment. While it does raise a few questions as to how the TARDIS team ended up in this situation, the story that follows more than makes up for it with a brilliant tale of amnesia, corruption, war and profit! A brilliant use of the confusing nature of the Time War, and having Hattie Morahan appear in the cast kept me guessing throughout, as it was clear she wasn't playing Helen, but that answer came right at the end and really shocked me at first! An absolutely brilliant twist!
