A much more enjoyable short story involving the Brigadier. This one sees the 8th Doctor returning to Cheldon Bonniface to bring an alien in need to refuge. It's basically a sequel to the New Adventures, Timewyrm: Revelation, Return of the Living Dad and Happy Endings featuring characters from across those stories. As such is feels a bit out of place in a Big Finish short story collection who, when stepping outside of TV canon, tend to use their own creations such as Samson, Gemma and Charley, rather than dipping into the world of novels.

However, it's written by Eddie Robson and is rather fun (and thankfully well-written). There's some Zygon Invasion/Inversion type political commentary and a fairly useless alien invasion attempt all wrapped up in the 8th Doctor's particular brand of loving life and just being lovely to be around. I liked this one.
