Unfortunately, the story feels like it ends before it begins, when taking the route I explored alongside fellow TARDIS Guide forum members, though it’s clear there were other directions the story could have taken. It would have been more satisfying to be pushed down a slightly longer path, as I didn’t feel I had enough time to get to know the one character we had been introduced to. There wasn’t enough opportunity to flesh them out meaningfully. This may simply be a result of the format—designed to encourage multiple playthroughs—but as a single narrative, it didn’t quite deliver on its potential. That said, the writing that was there was pleasant and enjoyable, making it a definite improvement over the one other Choose Your Own Adventure story I’ve tried so far. Still, I’m waiting to discover the ultimate, standout version of this type of story. Like Liked 3 Open in new window Statistics AVG. Rating100 members 3.35 / 5 GoodReads AVG.
