Regarding the latest from the box, I was expecting you to show me more interesting things, something that would leave a hook for the listener to create some hype for the wait for the next release of the trio 7th Doctor, Naomi & Harry. There is nothing so complicated and complex, much less notable in Naomi's Ark, it is a very simple plot to be honest - Basically, the Doctor, Harry, and Naomi land on a planet at the moment an evacuation protocol is happening due to a supernova. Naomi ends up separated and transported in an escape pod, soon after, she is captured by a young teenager named Captain Rocky and meets an entire crew made up of teenagers. Later on, we discover that this is all just a ride on the young people's parents' ship, who had separated from them during the evacuation. Meanwhile, the Doctor and Harry are captured by the parents, Queen Maylee and Doctor Thorne, parents of Rocky and Fixer. The race itself can live for thousands of years, but without direct family contact, the teenagers will die instead of growing up. Initially, we have that typical cliché step by step, “Ah, the two travelers are not trustworthy” so they are imprisoned, to later after a twist gain the confidence of the queen to find Naomi. Apart from the concept of communication and telepathic interconnectedness and part 1, which was really very good - The rest of the plot manages to be quite empty delivering almost nothing notable to the listener, the events have quite distant intervals from each other contributing to a very monotonous narrative. Not to mention at a certain point in the plot, we feel that we are just waiting for the moment when the Doctor finds a way to bring his companion back. I found it valid that the audio focus almost entirely on Naomi, but as I said in the previous review, she is a companion who has some good ideas, but the fact is that her character has not yet gained charisma or a distinctive personality, maybe inserting her in an arc giving the due focus to her development, could bring more intriguing traits to her. Regarding Harry... Look, I like him, I have no problems. I found Christopher Naylor’s performance very faithful to Ian Marter, but honestly - What is the need for Harry's return??? Because in these two boxes he was more of the same that we saw in Season 12 of the 4th Doctor. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it just didn't convince me of the return. In summary, apart from the excellent part 1 of Naomi's Ark, the rest I found quite monotonous and a bit uninteresting, but it still is far from being considered bad.
