This story gives us some excellent scenes between the Doctor and Master as they trapped together in what appears to be certain death. McGann and Macqueen seem to be sort of an odd match for each other, but the now more sullen Eighth Doctor and the pantomime Macqueen Master are good inverses of each other. Even more fun is that the Master pretty thoroughly wise the battle here, having some ingenious solutions on how to escape death. Liv deals with Sally Armstrong, who gets killed of course. I still think the overall hook of Dark Eyes, the Eminence, isn't terribly intriguing but it's been a plenty fine series.

A pretty simple story but incredibly effective. I am slowly warming up to Alex Macqueen's Master, and Sarah Armstrong has been a pretty compelling antagonist. Professor Schriver, however, was the real highlight of this story.

A+.
