Time Lording through time and space, one victory at a time!

VICTORY XIV

Jon Culshaw narrates this Short Trip, which sees the Delgado Master attempt to break into the most secure vault in the universe. Culshaw is good at channelling Delgado’s take on the Master, and the story is a fun little take on a one-man heist movie, with the Time Lord Victorious angle bringing in a couple of familiar elements from other stories.

The story is intriguing to begin with, but it runs out of air a bit halfway through.

It’s easy to miss out on this, but part of the story takes place on an unnamed jungle planet, where the Master acquired the Devolver (from The Enemy of My Enemy, Victory XIII), which he uses for his plans.

A nice little Story which lives from Jon Culshaw's amazing Narration. While I don't think he does do a great Delgado, he gets the Spirit of his Voice/Performance right. Despite being a fairly simple Story, it does go into Details with the UNIT Master, which is always fun.

Nothing more for me to say other than: This is a very simple, solid Short Trip, which you can't go wrong with. Not one of the strongest but a solid one for sure!

Having listened to the Timelord Victorious Big Finish full cast audios and The Daleks! webcast, I still feel I haven’t really touched on the main storyline; so I decided to explore more.

I’ve not delved into the short trips before, so this is an audio book with Jon Culshaw reading.

The Master finds his way into highly secure vaults to steal its contents, however its not that simple.

Jon’s Roger Delgado impression isn’t as good as his others. At first it was hard to grasp it was the Master, but there were times where he got it quite well and I wanted more.

At 40 ish minutes its hardly the most involved plot, and it did seem that it wasn’t really going anywhere. Descriptive, and knowing it wasn’t a long outing, I felt that maybe it may be a waste of time. However I was surprised to find that it picked up at the end and delivered something quite interesting.

It ties into events of the Timeleord Victorious and is worth a listen.
