Synopsis

A harmless investigation turns into an epic quest across time and space. Sarah and the gang are separated by the enigmatic Shopkeeper to find themselves in three different time-zones throughout history – doing battle against ghost hunters, Nazis, Tudors and a mysterious parrot called Captain!

Another great story! Series 4 has been consistently great. Finally some great Timey-whimey plots, and some great one-off characters.


This review contains spoilers!

Time travel episodes should be more fun than this. I suppose part of the issue is they’ve split the story into four, between the main protagonists and the custodian of time, which means instead of one proper story we get multiple separate ones that all feel a bit weak. Good performances though.

SARAH JANE: (reading) The shop's owner, Mister Smalley, who refused to give his age, said he saw a creature twelve feet tall, with huge fangs and red eyes.
CLYDE: What are we up against, the Gruffalo?
