📝9/10 = EXTREMELY GOOD!

Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: “LITTLE DID SHE KNOW”

A story focusing on Tegan as she returns to her family in Australia, written by Janet Fielding herself. It works much better than I thought—we meet a family still feeling the effects of losing Tegan’s aunt Vanessa and learn about Tegan's deceased mother and her difficult relationship with her father—all the while strange lights appear in the night sky.

I love how relatable the characters are and how Australia comes to life with very simple methods. The little alien plot is never the main focus but proves to be an important piece in the narrative. Because this helps Tegan reconcile with her father in the beautiful closing scene of the narrative.

There's good drama in the climactic moments, when Tegan tries to save her father while a snake wounds her brother, and she is convinced that the Mara still has ahold on her.
