This is a nice story but that there’s not a hell of a lot to talk about. Some dodgy voice acting and a decent script.

Perhaps The Doctor does seem a little uncharacteristically callous when the people of the planet start fleeing danger. His response is basically, “this is what rich people do when trouble starts”, when surely it’s what ANY helpless civilian would do in this situation.

Also. The Doctor needs a companion. Still. The woman introduced here would have done the job.

The last of the timelords and the last of another race thats the prize in a poker game, its up to the Doctor to rescue them.

We meet Nel, who is the surrogate companion (and I really think a companion would help) who take a seat in the poker game with the help of the Doctor. Each of the players in the high stakes game has their own reason for wanting the prize.

Nice first half but the second not so much, just loses the momentun a little.

Maureen O'Brien is in this! I didn't realise until i came to write the review, shows that maybe I sould pay more attention.

It seems not that well liked by some but its fairly average for Big Finish. The fact is that I do want a story I can listen to in an hour and not have to had sat through a boxset, or refered back to countless other outings in order to understand what's going on.

Reasonable and average.
