The characters are interesting and well-realised, but the writing style is not completely successful. The plot itself seems barely enough to sustain its page count. The sudden plot twist near the end, while surprising, only extends the novel further than it needs to be, and after endless fighting in the climax, the final scenes manage to seem rushed and short. This novel may not be completely engrossing but is casually enjoyable.
