The real highlight of this story is hearing the Doctor and the old captain share their experiences and relate to one another—it’s very sweet. The Third Doctor is portrayed with great accuracy, written excellently, and performed splendidly by Nicholas Briggs. His portrayal of the sailor is equally impressive and possibly the best performance I’ve heard from him in an audio. That said, because the Third Doctor is so accurately depicted, some of the less engaging aspects of his character are also present. For example, elements like his fondness for vintage wine, while true to the character, can feel a bit dull to me personally. The Third Doctor is a character I enjoy in other contexts, but here, his snooty, gentlemanly traits dominate, which are less to my taste. Nevertheless, it’s a very sweet story—gentle and touching. I found it to be a lovely and heartfelt listen. Like Liked 1 24 November 2024 · 10 words Review by Rock_Angel 2 Nice little story that makes me appreciate 3 a little bit Like Liked 2
