Previous Story: Interstitial

Better than the last one, but still not anything remarkable. The premise of this story is actually quite cool and handled fairly well. Hearing the mystery of why Nyssa is acting as she is and how the Doctor got into that situation in actually engaging... for the first 10 minutes. After that the story becomes really unremarkable.

I'd honestly rate this higher if it wasn't for the sound design. I think Big Finish sound design is very rarely mediocre let alone outright awful like this story. There's so much groaning and screaming and all-round strange noises throughout. It's not pleasant to listen to and out of context sounds really strange. I genuinely had to consider putting on my earbuds to listen to this one so nobody else had to hear it.

There's also a lesbian romance going on, which would be nice if the story was a little longer. This romance is really only mentioned towards the end of the story and not really hinted at prior and therefore feels really rushed and uninteresting. The ideas are all nice but none of the execution lives up to them.

All in all, I like what this story is trying to do but it's not achieving that whatsoever. Marc feels sidelined already and this is only his second story. All the characters are either split up or not themselves so they barely interact properly. The only somewhat interesting character is Nyssa, after it turns out it's just a generic possession though I lost all interest.
