I'd question if Lance Parkin has ever encountered Doctor Who before now, but unfortunately I know that to be false. Still, I have to wonder if he paid attention.

The plot is mostly dull and the couple of interesting scenes don't make up for it. There is a consistently weird attitude towards the teenage girl characters. The ending is incredibly stupid and rushed. The Doctor is, for a reason I cannot fathom, described as "Thatcherism personified".

Bad book. Miranda I wish you'd been written in something better

This book is brilliant, if you can get past the way it continually sexualizes its lead female character. That's a lot easier to push past in the last act of the book, where she's over 18. This book really only has one flaw, but it's about the single most significant flaw a book can have.
