Registers to me like it's kinda Part One of a Two Parter. It's almost all set-up, and by the time we get fully what's going on, it straight up ends, and almost certainly is never getting a follow-up ever. It genuinely feels like half a story, not an ambiguous ending. It's consistently a good time, but genuinely incomplete in a way that's to it's detriment. The play deftly balances the question of what is really going on, and whether the threat is imagined or not. The characters are excellently done, as is the pacing and the resolution. I only have two problems with it, both somewhat subjective. Firstly, the play should make it clearer that this is very early Torchwood Andy, not yet used to Torchwood stuff. I kept wondering when he would just make it Torchwood business, and eventually it was confirmed that this was before Andy got properly involved with Torchwood. They should have done that earlier; most of Andy's appearances are after he started getting properly involved, so I was confused. The second is the exact way it ends. Andy is quick on the uptake, and he's been following the happenings for a long while in this play. The moment Nia starts acting like Sandra and the dog seems to be Nia Andy would probably figure out exactly what happened, so having it end on Andy's unbelieving exclamations is odd. These are minor points, however, in what is otherwise a very good play. No311 View profile Like Liked 0 Open in new window Statistics AVG. Rating27 members 3.44 / 5 GoodReads AVG.
