Took me a while to get into this story, even with William Russell himself reading the audio version. On the whole I enjoyed it though.

There are a couple of surprisingly strong scenes later on, especially considering this was intended to be a children's story!

The tv ep has black face so to keep the theme up they say the n word for black women in this book I hate the word so much really took me out doesn’t help hearing William Russell read it to me
