the best characterization of ben/polly that I've ready that perfectly captures their relationship post-tardis and the complexity of the circumstances they grew to love each other under in comparison to the realities they are in now. I think about this one every day.

A rather lovely short trip, this time, featuring just Ben and Polly and examining their post-TARDIS life. It's written by Gary Russell and, surprisingly, avoids any fanwank whatsoever. It also bucks the fan trend of pairing Ben and Polly off, with Polly basically telling Ben that they'd never work as a couple.

It's a bittersweet tale. Polly's characterisation seems based hugely on Anneke Wills rather than Polly herself, but Ben is spot on.
