A great story to start off the boxset. Reminding us of what's happened, answering some questions, and being a great character drama! I took a brief break before coming back to this final boxset, and was initially worried that I wouldn't remember everything that'd happened leading up to it. Luckily for me, it seems the writers were prepared for that. An amnesiac Eleven having Valarie and Hendricks performing a legal battle over who's in the right is a brilliant way to not only get some incredible character drama out there, but to recap the events of the previous three sets as well. I've said before that some of my favourite parts of these sets is when the characters can stop for a minute and just talk about what's happened, and while we don't get as much a chance for that at the end of this story after the twist reveal, everything that's leading up to that is just characters talking and it's really really good. And on the topic of that twist reveal, I love it. A Dalek-TARDIS created for infiltration during the Time War, wanting to destroy the daleks for everything that they've done. Tying together both Eleven's Time War arc, and Clara arc (though the events of Asylum of the Daleks). It's all just so clean and works incredibly. Plus I love the timey-wimeyness of the twist as well. The fact that Tim hasn't yet given Hendricks the virus yet, but responded to her because she knew him already is just an nice little touch that just adds that extra touch of Moffat to this series which I really appreciate here. Overall, a strong start to the final set of an incredible series. JayPea View profile Like Liked 2 5 February 2025 · 90 words Review by Callandor Spoilers 1 This review contains spoilers! Email Job Prerequisites: The previous 11DC audios and Series 7 of New Who Didn't You Kill My Mother? is a strong opening to the boxset here, but not really close to this range's best (which is a bit odd, considering how much I love Dorney's work). It's got an intriguing setup, some pleasing Dorney trademark timey-wimeyness, and an excellent third act. I quite liked the reveal of who the consultant was; I didn't see that coming, and it has the potential for some great stories in the rest of the set. Similar to All of Time and Space from the second set, this tale is an imaginative and different take on a Doctor Who story. It's a quirky and imaginative opening part of what seems to be a four part story. The twists and turns in interesting ways, and really starts to pay off the entire Eleven & Valarie series. The themes it explores are fascinating and a welcome expansion on what has been explored already in this run. The voice cast does a magnificent job, with guest actors Lara Lemon and Homer Todiwala giving amazing performances. If the rest of this box set stays at this level, it should be a perfect ending to an already exceptional series. ItsR0b0tNinja View profile Like Liked 2
