Purely based on atmosphere, energy and vibes I enjoyed this one. A simple plot, well executed with some familiar and enjoyable performances at the heart of it.

On a second listen, this is a bit of a letdown. The growing pains of the Tenth Doctor adventures is that this maybe could have worked on television but in the audio format, it reads as pretty bland. I love the Ice Warriors but nothing was done to identify them beyond their one note quest for titular vengeance. Billie and David do a decent enough job and Briggs hisses in a menacing enough fashion. With the talent on hand, I expected more!

Derivative plot we've seen many times before, with some dull side characters.

I listened to it yesterday and yet I barely remember it. Villain wants revenge, yada-yada-yada. Vengeance isn't a way, yada-yada-yada. Yawn. 1.5/5
