The story is totally interesting. I loved the idea that with every explosion, David and Kathy rebuild from zero, eliminating objects from David's mother. The supporting characters were excellent in this audio drama. I really liked the scene with David's arm. It was interesting to see Ianto turn evil just to try and save David. However, I would have liked to know a bit more about the aliens that cause explosions by kidnapping people each time. I understood that this audio drama takes place towards the end of season 3 (2005) because the story mentioned Harold Saxon (the famous Master) twice, who is a politician who was elected without doing anything. The fact that the story talks a lot about coffee always makes me think of Honoré de Balzac (a 19th-century French author), as he only drank coffee to write and write without ever stopping and very little sleep. Even though it was extremely secondary, I really liked Andy's appearance. It's a pity that Norton was missing. (Translation generated by AI, so mistakes are possible). Broken examined the events of the first series of Torchwood and questioned how they impacted Lanto whilst focusing on showing how he progressed as a character as a result of them. Coffee examines how the events of the first three series of Torchwood impacted everyday people, and how the two characters we meet are impacted by them. The reason this comparison is flawed for Coffee is that Broken is so superior in every way. Using Lanto as the Torchwood character in a story with a very similar narrative to a pre-existing story naturally leads to comparisons, had they used Tosh, Andy, or Owen this would be less of an issue. What we got with Coffee is good. Yet it lacks the depth Broken had, I think trying to cover three series rather than just focusing on a shorter timeframe would have allowed it to do more with its characters I think. I undoubtedly enjoyed Coffee, it was a nice quirky story that focuses on how ordinary people view Torchwood something we've not got before. Yet, it lacks the substance that would elevate it from a good story to a truly great story. Muddyviolet View profile Like Liked 2
