Previous Story: Voyage to the New World

Six and Jamie is a really good (albeit a bit odd) pairing. Fraser Hines and Colin Baker have great chemistry and they’re great fun to listen to. I actually really like that Jamie doesn’t remember the Doctor at all, it skips all the “just like old times” conversations and makes for a pretty interesting mystery surrounding Jamie.

I like the setting, it’s reminiscent of The Highlanders (for obvious reasons) but it puts it’s own setting on it. It feels very authentic to how a 60s historical would go with the constant imprisonments and escapes from either side.

The plot isn’t remarkable but it’s fun enough. Jamie being an important highland figure called “Black Donald” wasn’t what I expected but made for an interesting change to his character. I do like how he still holds on to the values that he learnt from the Doctor even if he doesn’t remember the Doctor himself.
