The experimental format works to Rayner’s strength as an author, and it manages to really develop the character of the encyclopaedia so vividly. I never thought I’d feel emotional attachement towards a book? Truly such a lovely short story with bundles of references that made me smile a lot! I was surprised to learn that the Encyclopedia Gallifreya was from a Moffat episode and not some Douglas Adams-type nonsense from the Tom Baker era which it so much feels like. A very fun idea to explore in a story of its own here after seemingly little screen-time, and it's done quite well. The tie-in with the ending of Series 11 is neat too, even if I can't say I remember The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos well at all. hallieday View profile Like Liked 0 26 January 2025 · 26 words Review by ImpossibleGirl 4 Some of the stories are good and some aren’t. A few are a bit weird like the 10th Doctor one but it’s a decent book otherwise ImpossibleGirl View profile Like Liked 4
