"Brimstone and Terror: Missy’s Return to Chaos Falls Flat" Brimstone and Terror, a follow-up to A Spoonful of Mayhem, brings back Oliver as a student at Missy’s boarding school. Strax makes an appearance, though his role is minimal, and Lucy also returns to the mix. Unfortunately, this sequel feels like a rehash of old ideas but with far less energy or creativity. The story lacks spark, with the characters often feeling like they’re going through the motions without much purpose or impact. The children, central to the plot, remain as grating as they were in the original, and any tension the story builds is loose and unconvincing. While the narrative does take a darker turn towards the end, it’s predictable and does little to elevate what is otherwise a lackluster adventure. 📝Verdict: 4/10 Overall, Brimstone and Terror struggles to find its footing, offering a forgettable entry in Missy’s usually chaotic and entertaining saga. I quite liked Oliver and Lucy in the first one, and the overall plot was very fun, but Lucy is a little bit stiff here, and Missy’s overall plan is kind of fun but a bit superfluous and more one-dimensional. Lots of stuff I loved about the setting, Roy Gill can write as many Scottish-set episodes as he likes, but I did prefer the greater variety in A Spoonful. 3.75/5 OliverGreene View profile Like Liked 1 19 June 2025 · 33 words Review by thirteenswife Oliver and Lucy's return! I enjoyed their appearence the last time , I'm glad they came back. I love the complicated relationship dynamic she has with them , like she is secretly proud of them. thirteenswife View profile Like Liked 0
