Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time! "BOOK OF THE DEAD: A PREQUEL TO ARK IN SPACE WITH A FAITH-DRIVEN APOCALYPSE" Book of the Dead brings the story arc to a close as humanity’s last survivors prepare for the apocalypse. With River’s body on borrowed time and she and Sam branded as terrorists, the stakes are at their highest. The religious themes that have threaded through the set reach their climax, with a Noah’s Ark-style survival mission reminiscent of Invasion of the Dinosaurs. This episode cements itself as a prequel to The Ark in Space, with Vira and Noah taking on major supporting roles. Their presence is largely used for discussions on the morality of choosing who gets to survive, adding depth to the narrative. Meanwhile, River and Sam step back for much of the runtime, only taking a more active role in the final stretch. GARRISON CLAY GOES FULL VILLAIN Garrison Clay finally embraces his villainy, and he’s a delightfully menacing presence throughout. His henchman, Daster, also gets some solid moments, reinforcing the sinister nature of Clay’s grand plan. 📝VERDICT: 7/10 Book of the Dead wraps up the set neatly, tying all its threads together. While the pacing picks up, and the tension builds well, the resolution itself isn’t particularly thrilling. It’s a satisfying enough conclusion, but one that lacks a real sense of spectacle. A solid, if not especially exciting, finale.
