I loved the intrigue created by a series of familiar characters coming together who have all lost their memories. I found their journey really compelling and loved the War Games-esque / miniscope idea being developed for the Tenth Doctor. “Gabriella” was absolutely awesome. Especially with Cindy being properly folded back into the ongoing story and it all being seen from her perspective, having our more familiar companion and Cindy’s friend possessed was very effective. I’m still not 100% sure why Captain Jack came back / turned up a few stories back. Though maybe I missed something. 15thDoctor View profile Like Liked 0 23 October 2024 · 137 words Review by MrColdStream Spoilers This review contains spoilers! 📝5.9 = SLIGHTLY ENJOYABLE! Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time! FIRST IMPRESSIONS: “THE ARENA OF FEAR” The Arena of Fear picks off where the previous story left off. Our friends have been transported somewhere and can't remember who they are or why they've ended up where they are. I like the setup of a bunch of different characters thrust into an alien world to fend for themselves while slowly figuring out what's going on—it's like in the original Secret Wars event in Marvel. There's a lot of characters here, and the entire thing ends up being rather underwhelming. It's over before it really starts, and it's never very exciting. They go over this last of the Neanderthals thing again, like in Ghostlight and Timewyrm: Genesis. I love the new nickname for Captain Jack: Jock Hotness. It’s got good emotional weight, I love Cleo’s character, and honestly I’m just a fan of Jack. 7/10 JayPea View profile Like Liked 4
