Mission Report by UNIT Agent Bill Filer to Trap One - Subject matter: "A Mother's Son".

I think “A Mother’s Son” did a good job at portraying grief.
I gave it a 3/5, I would have gone higher, but I think the pacing was off in the story, and felt like it really dragged a bit at times. I think it would have benefited from having about 10 minutes cut, to streamline the story somewhat. Again we had one of these stories where very little actually happens, I get that it is more of an exploration of human emotion and grief, but I would like a bit more defined storyline/plot.

And the big one, which requires a bit of a caveat. I have nothing against Mina Anwar, her acting choices, her accent or anything else.
Sometimes you just come across a voice that for some reason, for lack of a better word, grates. Mina Anwar’s voice for me sadly is just that, and I really don’t like that - there’s just something about her voice that makes me want to turn off my TV/an audio. And she does play a very large role in this one... Oh well. By the way, Mina Anwar seems like a lovely person :-)

Good to have Orr back. It was a bit weird that they were absent from Volume 2, that's a rather significant part of the overall story arc.

End of report. Logged and filed at The Black Archive.
