Review of Weapons of Past Destruction by RandomJoke

I must admit I was very curious about the first Titan Comic for the Ninth Doctor and while there are Aspects to like here, it left me a bit cold.
I like what it’s going for.

There are some neat Aspects to the whole Story. Seeing what a Fallout looks like in relation to the Time War is fun on principle, but I feel like this Story doesn’t do as much with it as it could. It’s a lot “Hey that’s a really cool Idea”, but then I don’t think it ever gets taken advantages by its Writer.

Like for example it’s structure more like a classic Serial in its Format, which is pretty neat! Do I think the Cliffhangers are very exciting? No. In general, that’s kinda the best Way I could really describe this Story: A lot of wasted Potential. To add to this, I also thought it was confusing at times.

I do think the writing and Interactions of our Main Tardis Trio was done pretty well, I don’t think any of them really said anything out of character. Sure, were there Moments where I really didn’t follow why one reacted the Way they did? Yes. But Characterwise? It’s spot on for most, if not all, of it. The Coloring was a nice Homage to Series 1 I will say. It does take some Time to get used to it, but after a while it did work for me, even if the Illustrations, especially on some Likenesses, were really off. In general, I wasn’t too big on the Art with this one in Terms of Characters. Backgrounds? Very nice. Characters? Less so.

I am glad to see that the Story has its Fans, but sadly I am not one of them.
