Review of Weapons of Past Destruction by 15thDoctor

1 March 2025

The first half of this story is flawless. Seeing Captain Jack, Rose, and the Ninth Doctor reunited – a near-perfect team we saw too little of on screen – feels like a glass of water in the desert. Given real-world developments, this trio will likely never reunite in audio or comics again, making this a rare, precious gem. Their chemistry as they hop between worlds is joyous and puts me in a great mood.

In the second half the story gets trapped in a cycle of fake-out deaths – all undone instantly – rendering stakes meaningless. Scenes then start to shift from one kind of epic nothingness to another, though the witty writing and characterisation make it all in good fun. Still, this Ninth Doctor Titan Comics run shows promise, and I’m eager to see where it goes next.
