Previous Story: The Sands of Life
I'm undecided whether this was better or worse than the last part. On one hand, it's much more engaging and interesting, but then it's also got way more nonsensical action sequences. The Laan continue to be a fairly interesting concept, but they don't evolve beyond that, a fairly interesting concept. Cuthbert is the same, maybe even a bit duller, but then the President takes on much more of a role and is therefore more interesting.
As a two-parter, it's not bad. It's far from being a favourite and anything I'd relisten to but I also can't say that my time feels wasted.
It's just a story that I'm completely indifferent towards, which is a shame, because it could have been a lot more interesting. As far as Briggs' work goes, it's right in the middle.
