Previous Story: Voyage to Venus
Coming off the rather fun and engaging story that was Voyage to Venus this is rather disappointing. It's exceedingly dull, to the point that I completely zoned out in the middle. I'm not sure I missed much though because I doubt anything actually happened. Even Jago and Litefoot are made boring to listen to which is certainly a difficult feat. There's much more interesting historical settings they could have brought two Victorian gentlemen to I think. As it is they blend in quite well with all the posh English colonists and you easily forget that they're out of their own time.
The plot is an incoherent mess. Even the bits I paid full attention to make zero sense. It's "surreal" but not in a good way. I just genuinely can't bring myself to care about this story.
I did like the cliffhanger where Jago and Litefoot are left in the 60s, it makes me want to check out the next series of their spinoff. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this story, leave it at the first one.
