I was was much engaged in this book throughout the alien Venusians are very well described and give me such a clear picture of there culture and are quite sweet in a way

Ian and Barbara are on point this story too having there own little side adventures the start of the book captures there dynamic perfectly especially exploring how the team are after Susan left

the doctor is also amazing this story you can really feel William Hartnell through the page

overall it’s a solid story bleak but charming and very much a fun time however the ending is where the book kind of fumbled for me I don’t know how to explain it but everythjng else is good up until book 5 where it kinda feels a bit rushed
