Jonathan Morris is a writer who particularly specialises in the weird effects of time travel, it comes up in almost all his stories and here he gets to write arguably his best work in a story showcasing a victim of the Weeping Angel's touch, only instead of sending him back to the distant past, it throws him back less than 20 years and as he spends his life growing old in his own younger years he's given the chance to change history and save his doomed wife. Mark is such a well written and well defined character, not just the present version but also his past version whom we see grow up and go through all the struggles in life and his relationships, and throughout the story the Doctor, Amy and Rory pop up here and there to ensure history remains on track as the Weeping Angels keep interfering in some nefarious plot of theirs. It features a brilliant climax with the Doctor desperately trying to convince Mark that his wife has to die in a car accident and what the consequences would be should history be changed. It does have a bit of a fairytale ending for Mark's situation but given how heavy going the climax was I can let it slide. Touched by an Angel is a fantastic read.
