I had been told beforehand how bad this story was but this surprised me. This story is pretty bad. John Peel's writing style doesn't fit The Seventh Doctors' style at all. A lot of the characters we follow feel very one-dimensional with barely any layers. Ace and The Doctor are written out of character. The plot is far too overcomplicated. The villain of the story The Timewrym isn't interesting although the ending of this book does give her the potential to be great.  I just hope the next book Exodus is a good read. 3/10
