Review of The Tivolian Who Knew Too Much by thedefinitearticle63

This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order.

Previous Story: The Primeval Design

I have to say, I often prefer the stories in this series that go with more obscure "new monsters", and the Tivolians are definitely obscure. It would be very easy to do every story about the weeping angels, or the silence but I like that instead they choose lesser-remembered aliens.

The Tivolians are an interesting species, their main gimmick makes for a funny gag, and some good character development for Timble. This feels like a pastiche of the typical story of an clueless bystander getting wrapped up in some larger-than-life scheme. The main Tivolian enemy doesn't feel particularly Tivolian, but i'd argue the focus is more on Timble anyway.
