MR 032: The Time of the Daleks
Incomprehensible. Thank you. Next. Next.
No but seriously. There was a point in the story where I completely lost the plot and never picked it back up again, probably about halfway through part 1. Yet again, early BF demonstrating that they can't really handle the Daleks very well. Every one of the four Dalek stories so far has been a flop.
Uh... something about a Dalek time ship that crashed, causing a fracture in time, a fascist dictator experimenting in time travel because Shakespeare has disappeared from history, and magic time travel mirrors. For some reason all mirrors everywhere allow time travel. People can just step through the mirror and end up in another time. Like Alice in Wonderland. Because sure, why not, I guess.
The Daleks have apparently changed history so that they've always been the masters of Earth, somehow using these mirrors and deleting Shakespeare. Because Shakespeare is apparently the most important person in history. I guess. And that's the story?
Look, I gave up trying to understand what was happening a long time ago. It genuinely sounds like the ravings of a mad man. Even trying to read the summary of the story doesn't make any sense. Ah well. One more on this season of Eighth Doctor. Just like with the first season of Eighth Doctor stories, it gets gradually worse, but this season started out on a much better footing with Invaders and Chimes. We'll see if Neverland can wrap it up well enough.
