Review of The Pyralis Effect by thedefinitearticle63

29 May 2024

This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order.

Previous Story: The Horns of Nimon

Another fairly standard companion chronicle. It's well-performed but nothing that really stands out. There is no framing device so it is essentially just an audiobook.

Still it's quite good, in terms of the extended timeline it's the one of the first stories where the Doctor is viewed as some sort of myth. The ambient companion chronicle score slightly annoys me and I'm not sure why, but it seems other people like it so I won't fault this story for that.

Next Story: Shada
