TARDIS Guide

Review of The Mind Robber by grumbobulon

Such a fun story! It never fully coheres for me, but the concept, characters and set design are all so delightful that it glides by.

The Land of Fiction is an amazing concept, one that I think with a modern budget and some embellishment could return easily. A world governed by the written word - where all fictional beings can coexist and form a society is so very Doctor Who.
The props and costumes are so great!! The White Robots and the Clockwork Soldiers especially were standouts, goofy in the most endearing way. Karkus was also very fun, so-so fight choreography and all.
I also love the ramshackle TARDIS interior set, there are some very striking shots in Part 1.

I love that the Doctor and Master end the story with a schoolyard roleplay-off, and it's the most exciting part! Lovely, lovely story.
