Previous Story: The Behemoth
I absolutely love a story that takes an interesting premise and just runs with it and this was absolutely that. The idea of a society split up into beginning, middle, and end was really unique and almost seemed like a bit of commentary on our own lives. The first half was a bit slow, taking the time to set everything up but once it gets going it's absolutely brilliant and no time is wasted.
The performances here are stellar, there were some really gut-wrenching scenes where parents had to resist killing their own children and it was horrifying. I really didn't expect the story to go the places that it did. The biggest twist is almost reminiscent of The Enemy of the World but on a way larger scale. I'm a bit disappointed the team is split up again here, but they're all given a chance to shine individually so I'm not that bothered. Brilliant story, genuinely brilliant.
