Previous Story: The Word Lord
I hate Matthew Sweet's writing and this story is good despite it and not because of it. It's so pompous and arrogant and absurd in a not-at-all fun way. It's also frustratingly confusing, 7 having a grand masterplan isn't anything particularly new but the fact that he doesn't even know what it is doesn't help my understanding of things. I do quite like the idea of 7 luring the Toymaker in just to beat him though, it's a great contrast from their first (televised) meeting where the Doctor seemingly just stumbled upon him.
The vibes are weird, the story is nonsensical and yet somehow it still manages to pull itself together and be decently entertaining
