Review of The Idiot’s Lantern by t-xrdis

There is an interesting premise here but it does work too well for me. The Wire was a pretty bland villain; I think we needed a little more expansion on her backstory and motivation.

The last scene is... not great. The idea that Tommy should forgive his father simply because he's his father when he has done nothing to deserve that forgiveness and has shown no indication that he's willing to change is not the message we should be sending.

For me, the Doctor's anger after losing Rose was not done particularly well. He just kind of ran around shouting and I didn't find it particularly emotionally affecting. Often a quieter, more precise rage works better for the Doctor, and I think this is an occasion which would benefit from something more like that.
