This is just average.
The relationship between the Fourth Doctor and Romana is built upon well, and is a lot better than it's been in previous releases - however the latter is still a screamy girl and I really dislike that. I just think that there hasn't been a realistic and independent companion since Sarah Jane, which is really disappointing. Still missing the real K-9.
The Nimon did not look as impressive as I'd remembered them from photos. They looked really cheap, especially the head, which ruins them because they are interesting and cool villains mostly. But then again, they're defeated really easily in Episode 4. There's a mix of good things and bad things about this monster - there's some original ideas, but then the execution is just poor and that makes this really disappointing. At least Soldeed's actor seems like he's having fun, even if he might be on the wrong show...
Even for the 1970s, this story is cheap. It looks really lame and it feels like no-one cares. The sets are generic, the guest cast aren't interested, and it's just very unengaging. However, the TARDIS looks a lot more worn and interesting, with all the messy wires everywhere. It's a nice variation for a normally clean (ish) console room.
There are people there. They didn't interest me.
This is a weak story, but it's not atrocious. It tries, and I'm sure it had good intentions, but the execution flops hard.
