"To the end of existence!"

This was a strong confident debut beginning what evolved into the box set era of the Eighth Doctor. I didn't expect it to take place immediately after To the Death with the Doctor absolutely shattered from Lucie and Alex's deaths. We get the return of Straxus who sends the Doctor on a mission for 'hope' leading him into World War I.

I had somehow missed that Molly was Irish, and her rough-around-the-edges personality was a pleasant surprise. There's another nurse, I mean VAD, named Isabelle who is much mored stereotypically feminine, and also gets her neck snapped.

In many senses, this is just part one of a four-parter, so it's too early to judge the whole story. There's an evil American doctor, glowing gas that is apparently time winds, and then of course, the Daleks. The Doctor getting Molly to think logically to get her on her side was a fun moment.

Nothing exciting yet, but it's engaging and doesn't put a foot wrong.
