A tad more clunky at parts than I remembered but still good. The beginning takes a little while to get going and the more modern parallels they try to make in ancient Roman society just don’t play well. But the end of this episode is one of the best, how Donna’s empathy and desire to help others helps to overrule the Doctor’s defeatist attitude on saving people. I adore how much Donna’s compassion is shown here and how that subsequently affects the Doctor. Also, Peter Capaldi is a delight in everything he’s in.
