Review of The Face of Evil by greenLetterT

My friend once said "Love Face of Evil. Shame about several significant and plot vital elements of Face of Evil" and the more I watched of this serial the more inclined I was to agree with her.

Like, the idea of the Doctor having to deal with a mess he made and subsequently left behind is fascinating. I knew he was the Evil One, but the twist still got me! Louise Jameson and Tom Baker play off each other really well, this is a very good introduction to Leela. It's then unfortunate that the Sevateem are very much "what if we coded this fictional group as indigenous, and then kept referring to them as violent savages", which is just racism. (Interesting choice, though, that the Tesh - who claim to be civilised - are treated as much less sympathetic. Doesn't quite make it up for it, but it's interesting)
