New Who Review #103

The Day of the Doctor

This story was alright. Its the big 50th episode and lots are happening. We have the zygons back for the first time in new who which is cool the zygons aren't really my favourite villain but I can appreciate them in this story. Having David and Billie back was a blast I really loved it even though they didn't do anything together it was cool to have them in the same room together. We finally learn more about the time war and it finally Wraps it up. The fact that the doctor can't remember that he tried to save gallifrey instead of burn it was sad to me because he will never know he was a saviour instead of a monster. This story also brings back Kate and introduces another of my fave characters Osgood. The surprise cameo from tom Baker at the end was so good as he's one of the favourite doctors so it was a nice surprise. Alot of the dialogue felt very fan servicey and in my eyes didn't need to be there. The scene at the end with all the doctors coming together was beautiful and ill never forget the first time I watched this as a kid falling asleep halfway through and my dad telling me what happened in the morning when I woke up. Overall a good way to wrap up the time war and celebrate the 50th anniversary of our favourite tv show. 7/10
