"I'm afraid I'm a very unwilling adventurer."
This story is brilliant from start to finish and as with An Unearthly Child it is heavily carried by William Russell and Jacqueline Hill.
I really enjoy how once we have escaped the Dalek City and think everything is over, the Fluid Link is still inside the city. This leads to a moral dilemma with Barbara and Ian debating whether to enlist the help of the Thals. This actually leads into one of my favourite lines in the entire show:
IAN: Now listen, you two. What victory are you going to show these people when most of them have been killed? A fluid link? Is this what you're going to hold up to them and say, 'Thank you very much. This is what you fought and died for'?
This story is not only vital in showing the first appearance of the Daleks but also in developing the Doctor's character through the morals of Ian, mainly in the second half.
